CF&P Video Punctures
Tax Haven Myths

(Washington, DC, Monday, December 1, 2008) Today, the Center for Freedom and Prosperity Foundation released the final installment of a three-part mini-documentary series on the beneficial impact of low-tax jurisdictions. The new video, entitled Tax Havens: Myths vs. Facts, directly addresses the main attacks put forth by politicians and interest groups that demagogue against low-tax countries. Narrated by Dan Mitchell of the Cato Institute, the video cites academic research and data from international organizations to show why the anti-tax haven rhetoric is baseless.

Andrew Quinlan, the president of the CF&P Foundation, remarked "This final video in our tax haven trilogy addresses and answers many of misconceptions disseminated by politicians and other advocates of welfare-state policies who often try to smear tax havens as part of their efforts to undermine tax competition."

The mini-documentary is the final installment of a three-part series.  Part I explained the economic benefits of low-tax jurisdictions, and Part II explored the many ethical and moral reasons to support tax havens.

Executive Summary for Tax Havens: Myths vs. Facts:

The Center for Freedom and Prosperity Foundation has produced videos showing the economic and moral benefits of so-called tax havens. This final video in the three-part series addresses some of the most common myths put forth by politicians from high-tax nations. Using academic research and data from international organizations, the video shows that the most common attacks made against low-tax jurisdictions are empty demagoguery.
